Over the past few weeks we have been discussing ways that we are unique. We have realized that we share in many similarities, but also have many differences. Ms. Chen has been leading the students as they make a book describe ways we are unique. We have been looking at how our gifts and abilities make us special and how what we love to do is unique to ourselves. Below are some examples from the student-made books.
We continue to work through our alphabet. We have daily practice of the letters and their accompanied sounds. We have focused intently on the letters Aa-Hh and this week will be focussing on Ii.
We have also been enjoying some of our seasonably fair weather. Our class went outside for a recess time complete with the equipment the older grades use. We enjoyed some free time and some cooperative play with our friends.
Students have also been exploring patterns in class. Through centre activities we have been learning how to duplicate and extend various patterns using manipulatives and actions or sounds. Some students have been creating their own patters as well. In the next weeks we will continue to look at patterns and learn how to identify them and name them.
Reminders:
- Poinsetta pick-up: Poinsettias will be delivered and will be ready for pick up on Wednesday 2:15 to 3:00pm. Thursday 7:45 to 8:15am and 2:15 to 3:00pm
- No school this Friday December 8
- Winter celebration week is coming up. More information will be coming out in the next weeks. Our classes will be having a performance. Parents will be invited to attend. Please look at the schedule
