Welcome back!
We had a great first school day of 2018. Students were eager to be back in class and see all of their friends. I hope that everyone had a wonderful break and that you enjoyed some time with family and friends.
We are right back into our learning. As we continue mastering the letters in the alphabet and their matching sounds we will be using our knowledge to decode words we see in books and in our environment. As we learn the reading process students will use picture cues and sounding out letters in words, to decode while reading and writing. Learning reading is a lot of fun, but it can be challenging. The more repetition and exposure students have to books and text, the easier reading becomes. Below are a few online games that are a fun way to decode sounds in words. I encourage you to play some of them together. (You will need to have Flash Player enabled on your computer for these to work)
