What a fun week in Kindergarten at Kenneth Taylor School. We have continued our cultural games in gym as we celebrate the Winter Olympics. Our morning class has been preparing for an assembly this coming Friday. Family is welcome to attend. The assembly starts at 8:30am on Friday March 2.
On Thursday, we were privileged to have Kerry from Artfelt Studios. She taught us about how we get wool and how to turn, that wool into felt artwork. Students made "Me Tree's," which represent all the people and groups important to each one of us. A big thank you to all the parents and grandparents who were able to volunteer.
Friday was a flex Friday and fun lunch. Students in the afternoon class decided to open an impromptu book store. Before long we had students making money, price tags and signs for our bookstore. We celebrated our grand opening with the custom ribbon cutting ceremony.
Reminders:
Library: Tuesday
Popcorn Day: Wednesday and Thursday ($2 for popcorn)
Some information on Home Reading:
Thank you to all of you who have already participated in home reading. I appreciate the time you put in to developing your child's literacy, and the comments you have made on your tracking sheet. Starting this upcoming week we will be doing home reading book exchanges on Mondays and Thursdays. Please make sure you bring those books back on those days, and make sure to include the book log so I can see what you have been working on together.
Have a great weekend!
