I Can Read!

Good Afternoon, In case you did not know, we have a class full of readers. Readers look at pictures to tell a story, connect letter/word sounds to pictures to tell a story, sound out words or recognize words to tell a story. In class we have been learning how to read our classmates names. As we encourage our young readers, we want to create a poster/wall of words our students can read. If there are words that your child can read at home (environmental print) we would love for them to cut them out, or write them down and bring them into class to share with their friends and to put on our word poster/wall. Look at the photo's below for some examples. It can include logos, or pictures as that is part of reading. We will photograph the progress over the next few weeks on the blog. A Snapshot of our learning! This months fun lunch is for AM kindergarten students only!

This Friday is PM class

Dear Parents, My apology for any confusion I have caused regarding this Friday. I realise that I have said two different things about this Friday. This Friday is for PM students . I had said that a couple weeks ago and then last week said it was for AM students. I realize this may effect some who have ordered fun lunch. If you are in the AM class and have ordered Fun Lunch for this week. There are a few options. You could come pick it up at noon, you could have an older sibling come to the room and get it, or I can put the lunches in the fridge till Monday and hand them out then. Once again I do apologie for the error. Mr. Straiton

Scholastic Book Club

On Tuesday students will be coming home with Scholastic Book Club flyers. This is the same company as our Book Fair just last week. Please have a look, but feel no obligation to participate unless you wish too. Below is some information on how you can order books and how to pay online. The orders are due in by next Wednesday, February 7th.
