We start swimming on Monday. Here is some information and some tips to help the experience run smoothly.
Times:
AM Class
Depart School: 8:40am
Lessons: 9:15am to 9:55am
Return to school: 10:30am
PM Class
Depart School: 12:25pm
Lessons: 1:00pm to 1:40pm
Return to school: 2:30pm
Volunteers:
Thank you for sharing your time with us to make our swimming a memorable and worthwhile field trip(s). Unfortunately we do not have room on the busses for volunteers.
Please drive to the Thornhill Aquatic Centre. The address is 6715 Centre Street NW.
Please arrive at the pool for 8:55am (AM Class) and 12:40pm (PM Class). When you arrive at the pool please just wait outside the entrance for the bus to arrive.
You will help students get ready in the change rooms before and after the swimming lessons. During the swimming lessons please go to the viewing area.
For Students:
If students are coming to school straight from their home, we would ask that students wear their swim suits (under their clothes) to school. This will save time getting ready once at the pool. If you are going to a daycare or day home before school (mostly for some of our PM students) Please pack your swimsuit in a plastic bag.
Students will not be bringing their backpacks to the pool. Instead they should bring a grocery bag with their name on it. The grocery bag should contain the following items:
- towel
- swimsuit (if not wearing it)
- extra underwear (you wouldn't guess how many students accidentally wear their underwear under their swimsuits)
- an easy to eat snack (granola bar, water bottle, fruit snacks etc.)
